I'm like "yeah those characters can look however you want them to look like who even cares what the book says" like in les mis, cosette is technically supposed to have brown hair and marius is technically supposed to have black hair but you know what, blonde cosette and brunette marius make my world go round
and so what if everybody's enjolras ends up being a little more masculine than the brick intended and so what if fantine isn't usually blonde
madame thenardier is supposed to be really chubby and heck, eponine is supposed to be missing teeth and everyone seems to ignore that little detail
but GOD FORBID if your bossuet has hair. Like that is literally the one thing I will not stand for. And my excuse for it is "it's in the book" which is bullcrap because I tell everyone that physical descriptions in books are merely forceful suggestions and I don't know why it's just this one thing that really gets me upset?? Like in every les mis adaptation, bossuet has hair and that really bothers me for some reason.
