my friend recently took a 'mental health' day where she really just felt like she couldn't go to school and her mom was like "okay"
I once tried that after a terrifying mid-term week and my mom laughed at me like I was legitimately just trying to skip school
and today I just ugh it took me nearly half an hour to drag myself out of bed and I felt like crying all day during school I was just so blegh the entire time, and all I wanted to do was stay home and not have to think about my upcoming tests or graded classwork etc etc etc
I want to switch moms like I want a mom who understands that school can be stressful enough to become a danger to a child's health and that sometimes said child just needs a day to idk cool off

my mom is the same as yours  i have to fake sickness to stay home, and sometimes i'm just so mentally exhausted and worn out and so i sleep all day and then she calls me lazy. it sucks |

my mom only lets me get away with mental health days if i'm getting like straight A's which is really hard for me to do :C
if that's not the case then I can only stay home if I'm throwing up otherwise i'm "fine to go to school."

eergrgrhhh I haven't gotten straight A's since sophomore year. Last year ap chem always ruined it for me and this year I'm always like two percentage points away from an A in calculus and I'M SO FRUSTRATED

I understand the importance of mental health days<3
Think on the bright side. In college no one can tell you when to go and not to go.
And to be honest a lot of professors have days where they don't even want to be there. They might be rare, but it will happen.

i knew a guy whose professor took a mental health day and so he said it was one for the entire class

heckie, my english 101/102 / theatre teacher is sometimes just like "I'm over it already today, just keep the noise level down and hang out for the hour."
i love her so much.

I'm pretty self-motivated anyways so I don't think I'm going to have too much of a problem?? Really excited to take five classes a semester instead of eight though

It actually feels really good. It's very unlikely to have 5 classes a day, so usually you'll only have 2-4 a day, and your day ends quickly. c:
