like we're learning about families and everything (madre padre abuelo abuela hermano hermana primo prima etc) and like she like makes fictional families and they're always like hetero nuclear families and it's really annoying b/c like some representation would be nice??? and when we were learning how to invite people out she made the boys ask the girls out and vice versa and she giggled the whole time like we were asking each other out on dates and encouraged the class to do the same and i was very uncomfortable the whole time.
like my only teacher that's not super heteronormative and annoying is my english/theatre lady.

I think she crossed heteronormative and went straight into plain creepy. It sounded like she was practically getting off to the idea of a bunch of students asking each other out.

well yeah this is the same lady who told a kid that if he kept talking she'd cut his tongue out.
idek how my school got so desperate for teachers that they hired her.

plenty of people but like the administration at my school doesn't really give any craps unless a ton of parents complain which they haven't.
also there was a huge issue with spanish teachers last year like we had two and one had a baby and never came back and the other just sort of left in the middle of the year for no reason so we were stuck with really incompetent subs so unless they get like hard evidence of teachers like hitting kids they're not going to fire them i guess :c
it's just really uncomfortable going to that class every day.

no yeah I know that; my old english teacher actually ran our GSA
I've actually been lucky that most of my teachers have been pretty respectful and accepting to their students

my school doesn't have a gsa and even if it did it would be a bunch of ~allies~ trying to cash in on gay pride points.
we have a diversity club but it focuses pretty much exclusively on racial diversity with is great but like??? gender and sexuality diversity is important to??

idk what happened to ours--I never actually joined because I was too busy and then I stopped hearing about it so I don't know if we actually still have one
but when we did I know one of my best friends who was bi was like the president and apparently it was actually really well-represented.

the college i take my dual enrollment classes at has one but it meets at a campus that's like an hour away.
but i think the college i'm going to next year has one.
