This topic was brought up at my university's spectrum meeting, basically surrounding facebook's new gender system.
A newly identified trans individual asked if he should put 'male' or 'trans man' on his facebook, and we had a bit of a discussion, and we all basically came to the conclusion that it's all personal preference.
One girl said that she put female on her facebook because that is what she is, a female, and that's all that should matter.
On the other hand, one boy said that he put trans man on his facebook because he feels very strongly connected to the lgbtq community and although yes he is a man, he is also a trans man and believes his journey should not be forgotten.
In the end, you're allowed to do whatever you want. Whether you put woman or trans woman on your facebook doesn't invalidate your gender either way, you're still every bit a woman as any other cis woman, and whether you want to shout it to the world or keep it to yourself is your choice.
