i cant even call syd my best friend anymore
she is never there for me and she barely ever even talks to me
every single time she gets a boyfriend or someone to sleep with, she completely forgets about my existence
and seriously, my co-workers are probably my best friends right now
why did i request her as a roommate
i regret it
hopefully i make some new friends really quickly after i move in
she drags me down and i swear she purposely tries to make me feel bad about myself
like making fun of me for being a virgin, calling all of my exes ugly, and telling me i will be a bad psychologist because i have self-esteem issues
i have always been there for her and have supported her and she hasn't really been a true friend back
she is only there for me when she has nobody else and i am FED UP.

actually about the self-esteem thing, that was more in the past
i am more comfortable with myself now and i dont hate my appearance like i used to
i've grown to accept it
but she still thinks that it is impossible to get over my issues

Trust me, if you can put in a roommate change request IMMEDIATELY. If you have to, start e-mailing heads of departments and advisors.
Someone like that will really mess you up in college, especially your freshman year. She might be mad, but at least you won't suffer because of it.

i'm pretty sure it is too late to change anything
because it is REALLY hard to get on-campus housing
and i was lucky enough to get a room there
and they have the place i am staying at all finished with housing contracts
so im 99% sure it is too late : /
i will look into it
i really hope they dont put us together
i mean when we ARE Together, everything is fine
it's just when we are apart, she really doesn't give a darn about me
if it's too late, i SHOULD be fine because i can spend most of the time away from her
and i will only really be in there for sleeping and stuff
idk i should have listened to my parents when they told me not to request her
but i didnt think there would be a problem

I promise you it's not. They fed the same "you're really lucky to have gotten this room (that you're paying out the ass for btw)" but if you are persistent enough and make the right arguments, they will change you.
Definitely drop a few "I'm afraid she will negatively affect my ability to perform to my best at college, and would prefer to switch roommates."
It's actually not as hard as they act like it is to switch.
I did mid-semester when everyone was already settled and it was just a matter of a 2 minute paper work thing and literally 3 clicks of a mouse.

Also most places require a roommate contract to be signed one week after moving in, and after that they're required to offer a limited roommate switch period because some people are just literally not safe living together.
It'll actually be easier for them to do it now when there's no one in the rooms rather than later.

phew i might actually be able to do it then good
i just want to find a way i could do it without her KNOWING that i did
i know em :/ it is my body and my choice not to have sex until i am 100% sure
there is no reason for her to be rude about my personal choices that don't affect her in any way

And absolutely! It's actually kind of common for roommates to get randomly switched even when they've picked each other, because sometimes another person has issues that require them to have a more compatible roommate. xD
