I've come to the realization recently that it has been almost 10 years since my depression really set in.
I've never recovered, and it's been something I battle with every day.
And in that time, I've learned that sometimes you have to create your own happiness. And sometimes, it helps to do so once a week.
I've finally created a system for One Happy Day. It spans the length of an entire day, and I encourage you to make your own, or try mine if you wish.
Morning:
Wake up
Give dog medicine/love
Brush teeth
Wash face
Lay in bed for 2 hours in my pjs on my laptop
Afternoon:
Force myself out of bed
Put laundry in washer and later dryer
Put laundry out of dryer
Pick out my favorite pajamas/comfiest clothes and dedicate myself to a hot shower
Super hot. Relaxing all the muscles.
Pick my strongest/best scented shampoo, conditioner, soap, ect. and load up on it. I want to be a walking air freshener when I get out.
Get out and put on comfy clothes.
Sit on bed, leaning forward with towel over my hair but hair over my face
Inhale, exhale. Breathe good smells and feel generally clean and nice
Make Pizza soup (best comfort food, recipe at bottom)
Enjoy pizza soup, maybe with bread or chips
Night
Listen to happy songs
Spend rest of day on computer, maybe playing minecraft
Take two sleeping pills and go to sleep
Start over in 1 week.
Pizza Soup Recipe
I couldn't find any recipe that really followed how I make it, and I make it gooooooooddd. I know it sounds weird, but it's literally the best thing I've ever had.
You can add whatever you want to it, I'm just going to tell you how I make mine personally, because I enjoy a lot of meat in it.
Take 1/2 lb ground beef and cook until no longer pink
Take 1 can of tomato soup, 1(or 2) cup(s) of water(depends on how soupy you want it) and 1 can or 1/2 jar of Ragu pizza sauce and mix into a (seperate from meat) pot and heat until it boils.
Add ground beef, chopped canadian bacon, chopped cooked regular bacon, pepperoni slices, and 1-2 cups of cheese.
Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally
ENJOY
This has taken, at most 20 minutes to make and that was my first time making it and I kept reading the recipe over and over and over.
Again, you can add/remove whatever you want. Really, the only staple is the tomato soup/pizza sauce/water combo. And maybe cheese.
It tastes better than pizza, and it's really warm and fills you up and makes you feel good.
Also that recipe up there makes a LOT. Like I've fed 30 people two servings with it.
It also tastes amazing as a left over, so you can heat it up again and it'll taste great.
