i live in texas too and a lot of people are super country and that's the only genre i really don't listen to at all.
unless brandi carlile counts but i'd say she's definitely more folk.

and this is not music related at all but it sort of follows the whole texas/country thing.
almost everyone is super into duck dynasty and they can be really rude about it.
i should probably put something in the rants because it's awful.
asdfjlsdfjs but i used to live in michigan too and i noticed country a lot there too.
lately i've been super into more alternative indie like arcade fire and arctic monkeys and the strokes and the shins.

But also omfg i like all music like pop kpop broadway rap jrock tecno indie rock folk obscure ukranian bands that only my friend knows etc etc but make me listen to religious or country music and my ears will start to bleed
