appearance; fairly average in height, but a little on the thin side with a round, often smirking face which gives her a bit of a top heavy look. She has a head of thick, dark brown hair that's cropped close to her head and sticks out in every direction when she doesn't spend time smoothing it out. April's eyes are a bit on the large size but they're narrowed a lot of the time. She wears heels a lot and her outfits are usually pretty crisp and clean and classy despite her being pretty broke.

April was the only child of two upper middle class parents, and in her early years was the picture of american societal perfection- on the soccer team, miss church choir, with the "right" friends and the "right" grades and the "right" look. When her "right" friends started constantly ditching her and treating her badly, she decided that maybe her choices weren't so "right." so she finished high school online a year early and struck out on her own, not sure what was going to happen.
other; um well she doesn't really have that great of a relationship with her parents and she has a roommate which i guess one of you guys can be so yeee.

Mornings were never fun for April. She wasn't a morning person in the slightest, and today being Monday didn't help. It was all she could do to slam the "off" button on her phone's alarm and roll out of bed, but now she was expected to get dressed for work? Unthinkable. A hot shower helped a little, but then she would have to dry her hair before it began to stick straight up and out and all over the place. But she had two auditions lined up that day after her shift, so she had to persevere. "Naaaaate. What should I wearrrrr?"

a muffled groan sounded from the bed in the corner and then a bleary eyed boy sat up, his multicolored hair sticking up all over the place.
he squinted at his roommate before flopping backwards on flinging an arm over his face. "how should i know?" he mumbled to himself before sitting up again. "what should you wear for what?" he asked her.

"For work! Plus I've got auditions this afternoon. Like every afternoon, but whatever." April ran her hands through her hair in her best attempt to flatten it, but to no avail. It would take quite a bit of styling before she would even think about leaving the house. "I mean, if I wear the wrong thing the casting directors might not be able to picture me in the role, but I can't wear something /too/ gimmick-ey because I have to go to work and it's the breakfast rush so there's a chance that something might get on it..."

(i have no idea where she works or if she's able to wear a dress but...)
nate's long legs slid to the edge of the bed and his feet planted firmly on the ground. he sat there for a moment, squinted eyes staring at april as he tiredly scratched his bare chest before he sighed and got up, wordlessly walking over to their shared closet. he dug around on his side for a moment before pulling out a simple kneelength black dress, then grabbed a dark gray overcoat. he turned to face her and held out the outfit. "it's simple and pretty, perfect for any occasion," he said the last part sarcastically. "don't spill anything bright or white onto my dress okay?" he smiled at her.

"I won't, thank you!" April smiled back, going pulling off her tshirt and throwing it aside. "I'm going to go grocery shopping before I come home, do you need anything?"

nate dug around for a teeshirt and slipped it over his head. "no, have you noticed if we need anything?" he sucked in a breath before moving to their minifridge. "do we have milk," he breathed out in slight panic before holding up a half gallon. "i think we're good. have fun at work and good luck at your audtions, yeah?" he straightened up and kissed her cheek. "you'll do great!"

"I hope so." April said a little nervously. "And I'll try not to cuss out any rude customers or anything like that." She took the dress off the hanger and put it on. "This fits really well."

"oh, please. if they're rude you have the natural right to cuss them out!" nate grinned and stretched, his arms extending above his head and joints popping. "it looks better on you," he poked her hip and smiled. "it's made to fit skinny bodies like mine, so it hugs curves really well. you're lucky." he pulled away, glancing at the time. "i actually have my own things to be doing today, sadly. so i'll see you later? don't want you to be late."

"Okay, call me if you need anything." April dug her bag of makeup out of her top drawer and opened if up. Two tubes of mascara, enough eyeliner to fill a sketchbook with smudgy cosmetic drawings, enough lipstick to color said drawings and then some, and a palette of bright blushes. Almost all of it was stage makeup, rarely ever used and taken pristine care of.

"don't worry, i will, although i don't think i'll need to!" he pulled his skinnies on and a sweater over his teeshirt, slipped into his converse and shook his head like a dog (then running his hands through to try and make it seem seminormal)

It wasn't until nearly seven that evening that April got home with groceries- cattle calls were stressful, long, rarely bared results. "Hey." she said, setting the bag down on the counter and hanging up her jacket. "How was your day?"

nate immediately hopped off of his bed and helped her with the groceries. "why didnt you text me you were here? i would have helped you carry these in," he told her, bending down to start putting the groceries away. "my day was... interesting. i learned a lot about estrogen and other hormones," he straightened up and stretched. "how was yours? how were auditions?"

"Work was busy, but I did okay with tips. One audition went alright, they're posting callbacks Friday. At the other the director stared at my resume the whole time instead of listening to my piece."

April laughed, sticking the ice cream in the freezer. "He was probably wondering whether or not my previous work was legit."

nate gasps in mock outrage. "but how could he ever doubt you? of course it's legit sheesh people these days," he shook his head as they finished with the groceries and nate sat down with a box of crackers. "you never know, maybe your voice will carry into his dreams for nights on end and he'll just have to call you back."
