i hate saying things like "i think i have depression" or "i think i have anxiety" cause there's like a big chance its just me being a dramatic teenager and i'd hate to undermine people who actually have those things
but then i read things about them or people say things to me that make me think maybe i do actually have them even if it's just a little bit
but my family is the type to sweep mental issues under the rug they did it to my grandma's brother and he ended up shooting himself every time i try and talk to my mom about it she just says i'm being stupid so i guess i'm never gonna know if i actually have these things or not all i know is what i feel about 95% of the time isn't that normal

try to see if your mom will at least set you up a doctor's appointment, or just mention it the next time you're in the doctor's office. If you say something like "I think I have depression" your doctor SHOULD evaluate you regardless of what your parents say.

i guess :/ it just makes me nervous like i said my family pretty much acts like mental issues don't exist so i've pretty much been shoving what i feel inside trying to act like it's not there which probably made it worse lol

I know how you feel. My family's issue is that EVERYONE has a diagnosed mental issue but me and I'm kind of scared that if I do get diagnosed with anxiety disorder I'm just succumbing to my family's genetics so I try to play off panic attacks as if they've never happened :c
But if you feel like you might do something to seriously put yourself in danger or if you really feel just too sad to handle it, you should still try to get it checked out. Keeping it in isn't ever a good thing to do.

Not having a diagnosis does not mean that you don't have it. ^^ Whatever you are feeling is REAL and by saying that you are not undermining anyone's problems. The medical system is not perfect and many times people with real problems get completely passed up by terrible doctors. Their problems aren't any less real, just not properly handled. If you think you have these problems, just bring it up next time you see a doctor. Even if that's not the intent of your visit. If you don't think you'll see one any time soon, talk to your school counselor. It might be scary, and I can't promise the outcome, but if (s)he's good at their job then they will at least help you encourage your parents to see a doctor.

yes what tori said ^
many people have some disorder in one way or another. each one is equally as important as any other, and pushing those under the rug isn't very healthy.
